Terry Hoknes completed a project that took 1000 hours during 2012 to compile a list of his 4500 personal favorite songs of all time.   He had to listen to each song and put them in order of preference and he included data from his 25 years of personal music charts and life events and then included biographical data for each song (from wikipedia.org) and also included a music video (from youtube.com) for every single song.   He believes he has by far created the worlds largest personal favorite music project.

In 1984, at the age of 13, he began a process of documenting all his favorite groups, songs and albums on a DAILY basis !   Now 28 years of data has been compiled and he figures he may have listened to 30,000 songs during his lifetime.

In 1990 at age 19 he ranked his 1000 favorite songs of all time.  Now 22 years later, age 41, he once again ranked the best of the best this time with personal details, biographies and videos for every song !

These are the 4,500 that he personally feels are the greatest songs of all time !    I would be happy to be deserted on an island with my top 200!

This list is totally unique as its influence is based on age, location, demographics, personal genre interests and life experiences and choices and is a reflection of the personality of one singe human being.   By including personal data he re-creates his life story through the songs that mattered to him at various points in his life.   One day when his own son grows up he may be able to use this data to learn more about his father as well as some important music history.  This project was created from June 28th to October 16th 2012 by Terry Hoknes at hoknes@hotmail.com
